Carry out synchrotron ionospheric transmission detection experiments based on multi-satellite and multi-band with the same GPS time base

Results of the spectral measurements of ionospheric noise in the meter band are presented. The events lasting several milliseconds (the emission maximum of which drifts upward (in frequency), is reflected (stops), and drifts downward) have been distinguished. Moreover, multiple harmonics are observed. The frequency-time structure of such events have been considered from the viewpoint of registration of the electron beam synchrotron emission harmonics at ionospheric altitudes in the geomagnetic field. The model calculations of the frequency-time structure of ionospheric radio noise bursts drifting in frequency have been performed taking into account the measurement conditions. It has been indicated that the model electron radio noise bursts agree with the measured bursts reflecting from the ionosphere at altitudes of 100–180 km.

Carry out amateur HF/VHF/UHF re-transmitting experiments in any narrow-band mode

Carry out communications experiments between inter-satellite amateur loads, LIFI high-speed digital downlink and CW lamp signal communication experiments

Xiaoxiang-2 is the second in a series of 6U CubeSat missions by the Changsha Gaoxinqu Tianyi Research Institute, following up on the XX-1 demonstration satellite launched in November 2016 atop the second Long March 11 mission to demonstrate a small satellite stabilization system with sufficient pointing accuracy and stability for astronomical missions. The XX-2 through 5 satellites are classed as commercial science missions utilizing stabilized imaging systems.

The Xiaoxiang-2 satellite complies with the 30 x 20 x 10-centimeter form factor of the CubeSat specification and weighs around 8 Kilograms at launch, hosting the stabilization system tested by the pathfinder mission and an experimental camera system. The XX satellites are built on a 6U CubeSat platform of Spacety Aerospace Co.

Launch

19 Jan 2018 with CZ-11 (Chang Zheng-11) rocket from Jiuquan. Long March 11 is a four-stage launch vehicle standing 20.8 meters tall, 2.0 meters in diameter and weighing in at approximately 60 metric tons. The vehicle has a liftoff thrust of 120 metric ton-force and is optimized for Low Earth Orbit Missions which typically involve the vehicle firing its first three stages in close succession ahead of a coast phase to allow the fourth stage to inject satellites into circular orbits.
